Our Roadloft Camping Kit for SUVs is generating a lot of buzz. Outdoor enthusiasts find it’s the best tent’s alternative. Especially on rainy days. Camping-loving SUV owners are discovering the solution they’ve been waiting for without even knowing it!
SAFETY, TRANQUILITY, COMFORTABLE BED
Its 72 in. x 48 in. bed (large for an SUV) and its Roadloft mattress make sleeping in it almost too comfortable! Festival goers also appreciate the soundproofing and safety of their SUV’s cabin.
COOKING SHELTERED FROM SUN AND RAIN
And all mention enjoying the kitchen in the back of the vehicle.
YOUR SUV IS BIGGER THAN YOU THINK
By the way, many interested peoples, after measuring the dimensions of their SUV, mistakenly believe that our camping kit cannot fit into their model. Be careful, do not rely on the available width of the SUV floor, it is misleading. Because in most models, the available space expands to the height of the bed and allows you to integrate our kit. And for the length, consider that before moving into the bed position, the front seats are moved forward a little. So don’t rely on the length between the tailgate and the front seats, check the compatible models on our site.
Our SUV camping kit inherited the lightweight, durable and eco-responsible manufacturing processes developed for our detachable minivan camper conversion kit. But obviously not from his space. The length, width and height of the minivan cabin are not found in most SUVs. But well organized, some customers manage to challenge their own minimalist commitments 😉 The key is always the same: space optimization.
REFRIGERATOR AND BATTERY
The first step towards energy autonomy is the refrigerator. For the SUV kit, we recommend the Alpicool C15. However, for some who would like to take trips longer than a short weekend getaway – which is the case for many of our SUV customers – you could install the C30 model and move it to the passenger seat before driving. sleep. As for the battery (or power station) that powers the fridge, we install it on the floor between the driver’s bench and the rear seat and run the wire under the bed to the fridge in the back.
The bed platform of the SUV kit being raised, make the most of the space between the bed and the floor, provided for storage. Small clothing bags, hiking bags, yoga mats, bike helmets, camping chairs, whatever you need. Something we love, the little compression bags in which we group and compress our clothes.
And if you are short on space, you can always opt for a roof box. There are several solutions on the market (rigid vs canvas, in different formats). Products that meet different needs and budgets.
Just like in the minivan, we always recommend the use of seat organizers. The 5-section model will allow you to store your small personal effects (toothbrush, sunscreen, headlamp, card game, etc.) The 2-section model: clothes, blankets, towels and even a laundry basket!
Of course, due to a lack of available space, there is no table and bench seat in the SUV as is the case for the minivan. However, the front part of the camping kit bed platform comes apart quickly. This allows you to raise the rear seats and sit comfortably in your vehicle.
In the photo below, you can see a small portable table hooked to the front seat.
