Our story
We’re Laurence and Samuel, co-founders of Roadloft and travel lovers for over 15 years.
In 2016, we discovered vanlife and immediately fell in love with this way of traveling. Our minivan, then outfitted in a very DIY fashion, allowed us to live adventures in our little home on wheels.
Completely charmed, we spent more than eight months a year—until 2019—living full-time in our minivan. Our affordable, simple, and comfortable solution not only allowed us to discover breathtaking landscapes but also to live in them. We traveled across North America—from the Yukon to the Canadian and U.S. West Coasts, and through many states in the American Southwest.
In 2018, our experience—combined with that of a seasoned industrial designer—inspired the optimal design: one that would maximize comfort and practical functionality, while minimizing daily setup and effort.
That’s how Roadloft began. A conversion kit that transforms your everyday vehicle into a comfortable, ergonomic camper in just a few minutes—without any modifications. Spontaneous getaways and road trips became easier than ever. As a market leader, Roadloft continues to simplify access to vanlife every day.
Since then, convinced that traveling in a minivan, SUV, hatchback, or pickup offers the perfect balance between comfort and adventure, we’ve shared our solutions for economical and eco-friendly travel.

We offer an accessible, ecological, sustainable and ergonomic alternative to allow people to go on spontaneous getaways more often, to get out of their routine and live new experiences.
And this in the same vehicle they use for their daily life. With a minimal investment that retains its value.
Our values
Autonomy
Autonomy is a value as much linked to our product as to the preferred method for supervising our employees. We offer the opportunity to our customers to be autonomous in their way of traveling and to our employees in their way to work. We aim to replace the "do this!" with "what are you going to do and why?". Our goal: to develop a sense of autonomy in carrying out tasks and to facilitate the identification of problematic situations or the creation of solutions. This autonomy is also demonstrated in the flexibility of schedules and taking leave.
Environment
Each time Roadloft makes a decision, we must answer yes to the question "Is it good for the environment?". If the answer is no, research will be done and the decision will be reconsidered. Sustainability, ecology, zero waste and circular economy are all elements and concepts that are taken into consideration.
Innovation
Innovation is also a central element that guides all decisions made at Roadloft. Our goal : to put on the road a product at the cutting edge of technology and trends, but also to choose up-to-date management methods. Employees are strongly encouraged to participate in this innovation by proposing new methodologies or by identifying the sources of loss or non-performance.
Open-mindedness

We ordered our kit without having seen it
We used to go camping with a tent. For us, switching to vanlife was a big upgrade. We ordered our kit without having seen it in person, so we changed our Mazda for a Grand Caravan knowing we were doing the right thing. It turned out to be true.
We absolutely love our Roadloft conversion kit and we are gradually planning our next trip on the East Coast and then, in BC to finally meet our newly born grandson. This is the true freedom!
